South of The Castle lies a strip of beach. The ocean is sapphire blue and crystal clear. The sand is pure white and warm. Those who wish to take a break from training or just want to spend time with their horses come here. During the day it can be quite warm, but the best time to visit is in the evening when the sun lowers and heat vanishes. It is plenty big with the waves gently rolling and crashing against the sand. There is no need to worry about many supplies as the beach end isn't too far from The Castle. Though anyone who walks along must be careful of their horse's safety and that their horse isn't hurt.
Kylie was unsure of what to do. She was one of the youngest currently applied for Equus Amor which freaked her out a lot. She had hoped there would be more closer to her age. Currently she was leading her horse behind her walking towards the beach. She had to do something with Miracle, after all, she couldn't stay locked up in the stable all day. And she definitely didn't want to go up the mountain trail.
Kylie and Miracle arrived at the edge of the beach and stopped. Kylie turned around and took off Miracle's rope and halter. She knew Miracle would stay near her without running off, after all, she was in an open backyard at home and she never tried to leave.
The two walked side by side, Miracle sometimes running slightly ahead or in the water. Kylie found a lovely place and sat down right out of the tideline. Miracle was trotting around having fun, but quit to walk over and lie down beside of her owner. Kylie laid her hand on Miracle's back and used her other hand to stroke her mane. Every once in a while Miracle would nuzzle the hand, but the two stayed like that for a long time.

"Harper, I just don't know how to connect with them." Addison said to her horse. "I mean the school starts soon, and so many students will be flocking here filling up the corridors and I... Well, I... I just don't know how to interact with anything that doesn't have four legs." She said skipping another stone into the water. Harper her Gypsy Vanner Filly stood next to her. The two of them, had an unspoken connection. The only animal in the world... Well, the only thing in the world she can connect with. The beach was beautiful and the seclusion was what she strives for. She took anti-social to the max, and had been like that since the accident. After she finished skipping the stones she collected on their walk to the shore she walked over to a piece of driftwood and sat down. Harper wordlessly followed her. She took a few sugar cubes out of her knapsack and gave them over to Harper. She ate them happily and then rested in the sun. Addy took out her sketch pad and her oil pastels and began pastelling the scene in front of her. Art and her horse were her only escapes...

Kylie wasn't sure how long she had been lying there. She had dazed out, maybe even fell asleep, though she didn't think so. Her horse was still lying beside of her staring at the ocean. She stoked Miracle once more before standing up and stretching her back; her horse standing with her.
Kylie had thought some things over. Ever since she was adopted, she had been quiet and shy, but she didn't know why. She didn't seem to fit in with others, and she began to think if coming to this school was really the best thing. She didn't have any friends, and she never relied upon anything but her horse. The only other creature she could connect with.
When she had went to a public school, people had called her a mute and stupid because she never talked, but they were more than surprised when she usually came out with the highest grades. Finding out about the teasing and bullying, Kylie's 'parents' took her out of public school and began homeschooling her. That was one of the reasons Kylie was so alone.
Kylie tried to push the tears back that she could feel forming in her eyes. She did the only thing she could think of to calm her down. She began to hum and her humming became beautiful singing. It was a song she had come up with herself a year earlier and it talked about how things would some day get better and despite her past she would have a good future.
Kylie began walking towards the other end of the beach once again singing her song and walking alongside her beautiful Paint filly.

The picture on her lap was filling out nicely, but Addy's hands were covered in the oily pastel film, and no matter how many times she tried to wipe it off it remained. She knew her hands needed to be washed, yet she didn't want to walk back to the castle. She sat the paper on the bench of driftwood and walked over to water washing up on the sand and began scrubbing her hands. The water was cold and smelled wonderfully to her nose. It made her think of her mother's perfume, and even though that was such a sad thought she took comfort in the smell. Any ocean type smell for her mother, and the smell of coffee and moss reminded her of her father. When she smelled those scents it made her feel like her parents were still with her watching over her. Once her hands were clean, she walked back over to her bench and threw out the picnic blanket she had out and put her lunch on the blanket, it was nothing fancy or special. Just some mac & cheese that had ham and olives it in, some pieces of cheesy garlic bread, and a couple bottles of her favorite juice! She began eating her meal and looking at her horse, she was truly beautiful, but she worried that Harper might be lonely. She was going to have to talk, (just the thought of that made her body shudder), to Monroe and see if she could get one, maybe a silver one, or pale white. Something that is the exact opposite of Harper, and a male. At least if she got one, Harper would not be condemned to the lonesomeness Addy suffered from.

Kylie reached the end of the beach quite quickly. Faster than she had imagined she would anyway. She wasn't very tired and the sun was beginning to set in the sky. However Miracle didn't seem very excited anymore.
Kylie frowned at her horse slightly. "What's wrong Miracle? You seemed fine earlier." Miracle nuzzled the young girl's back but made no other motion. Kylie frowned. She finally figured out what was wrong. "You want to get back before it gets dark don't you?" Miracle snorted.
Kylie sighed guessing her horse was right. It was probably barely six or seven, but they didn't need to be out after or near dark anyway. She needed to get back home for the night. Her 'parents' would be worried sick.
Kylie put the rope and halter back on her filly so she wouldn't run off when it got any darker. The only creature she ever talked to was Miracle, and she didn't know how she would be able to make friends at Equus Amor. Only a few days left before school. Oh well, she'd have to make the best of it and hope no one made fun of her here too.
She grabbed Miracle's rope and began to walk towards The Castle. From there she would head home for the rest of the evening and night. It wasn't that far of a walk at least.

Prim had just applied for the horse school but she had one problem. A big one too. She didnt even have a horse.
What was she thinking? She left her own family to come here and do what? Angerily, she picked up a small stone and threw it into the ocean. With a splash, it sunk to the bottom. She scratched her neck. It was hot and sticky with sweat. Prim never sweat. Alaska was always so cold, and here she was, burning to death.
Furious with herself, Prim kicked a small pile of sand. Thats when she noticed something sparkling in it. She knelt down and carefuly picked it up. It was a small silver necklace with a silver little horse on the chain. She shoved it in her jean pocket. Maybe it could be helpful? She thought. Just then she noticed a sunset. Glancing up, Prim began to realize that if she hadnt have come here she wouldnt have experienced all that she has. In Alaska, she would have never seen a sunset like this, but here it felt like it would be a normal thing. Then she made a promise to herself.
"Today I will watch the sunset. Next time I come, I will be with my new horse." Then she began to head back to the castle.
