The Breeding Process is complicated, so it would be best to read over the information here completely.
BEFORE THE BREEDING:
1) Your horse had to be at least 4 years of age.
2) You must have have a stud that can be used to cover the mare. You can find studs one of three ways,
3) You need to fill out the covering form and post it in the forum section.
DURING THE BREEDING
1) When your form is accepted, I will create a thread, that will look something like: USERNAME'S, HORSE BREED HORSE NAME, COVERING DATE.
2) I will post the name of the mare, her type, and her skills. I will also post the studs name, his type, and his skills. I will post the covering date, as well. It will take 24 hours for the covering to take place.
3) When the covering is over, you will receive a PM with the password to the board. Once you get it, you need to go and post in the thread and feed and water your horse. You can spend time with it, take it for a walk, or do whatever. BUT YOU NEED TO POST.
4) Once you post, your mare will be deemed 2 months pregnant, and then you are done. For the next five days, your mare will age two months in her breeding box, after five days, your mare will give birth to a foal or a filly.
5) Each of the five days, you can visit your mare once and take care of her. The more time you spend taking care of her, the better the odds will be that your foal or filly will be born with skills.
SKILLS POTENTIAL:
1) Each Horse is given 6 Skill Stars when they are given by myself, or bought from the store. As you train and enter competitions their skill stars increase.
2) When you cover your mare, both her skill stars, and those of the stud are calculated. The simplest way is of course, adding the stars together and dividing by two. This is the base stars.
3) If you take care of your mare while she is in a box, the skill stars might increase, but if you don't take care of her while she is in the box, the skill stars will decrease.
4) If you posted a bare minimum each of the five days she is in gestation, (ie. Gatekeeper looked in on his horse, gave her some food and water, and groomed her. Then he left), your skill stars will remain the same, with no increase or decrease.
5) If your foal and filly are within 5 skill stars of each other your foal or filly will gain a +2 in skill stars. If there is more than a 15 star skill difference, the foal or filly will lose -2 in skill stars.
6) If you neglect to take care of your horse while it is in its box, for each day you don't post you lose skill stars potential. For the first day, it is -.5, and then it doubles each day. So for day two it would be -1 star, for day three it is -2, for day four it is -4, and if you fail to take care of her at all during the following five days you will lose -8 skill stars. The star loss is culminated, so if you don't take care of your mare at all during the five days, when your foal or filly is born it will lose -15.5 Skill Points.
So in the above example with the foal or filly with 24 stars, it would be born with 8 stars only. (We will round up the half points). Of course if you lose more skill stars than what your foal or filly is born with, we will not make anything negative, so the horse would have 0 skill stars.
7) On the other hand if you take care of your horse every day, you will get an increase of skill stars depending on the length of the post and the time you spent with the horse.
For each paragraph you type, (a paragraph is 3-4 sentences) you will gain +.5 skill star, so if one day you write a full five paragraphs, you will gain +2.5 skill stars for that day. If you write five paragraphs for each five days, you will gain +13 Skill Stars (12.5 rounded up).
For those of you that are not too much of writers, if you take care of the horse you will still gain skill stars. The first day +.5, the second, +1, the third +2, the fourth +4, and the fifth +8. (For a total of +16 skill stars).
These two options will be added together, so in both of the above instances, and with the example above, your horse will gain, a +29 skill points. With the example above your foal or filly will be born with (+29 + 24 = 53 skill stars).
TO DETERMINE THE GENDER:
With each password there will be the numbers one and two. When you make your first post one the day you are given the password, you need to pick the either one or two. The numbers will correspond with either foal or filly. Each time the password changes, the correspondence might or might not change. It is just the luck of the draw.
HOW BREED IS DETERMINED:
If you are covering a pure breed horse of one type, with a pure breed horse of the same type, the foal or filly will be pure breed of the parent horses.
If you are covering a pure breed horse of one type with a pure breed horse of another type, the foal or filly will be 50% the mother and 50% the father. A game of chance will be played, and the result type of the horse will be decided.
If you are covering a pure breed mare of one type, with a stud that is more than one type, (ie. Pinto and Paint) the foal or filly will receive 1/2 of the mothers genetic type, and half of both the fathers. The genetic type with the highest gene percentage will result in the final type of the foal or filly.
If you have two horses both mare and stud that are not pure breed, and have more than one type in them, your foal or filly will receive half of the genetics, the gene with the highest percentage will be what the foal or filly's type will be. If there is an even split then it will become a game of chance like with the determining of gender.
Please note there is no way to breed out one type of genetics, if you have a horse that has more than one type, their off springs will have each type, and will always have at least 1% of that gene in them.
AFTER THE HORSE FOALS:
Once your mare foals, your thread will be left open for three days, in which your foal and mare will age 2 months each passing day, on the third day, when your foal or filly is 6 months, you will need to move it to a stable. The thread will then be locked, and the covering information will me added into the post in your horses profile. You will also be responsible for adding the new foal or filly to your Horses Profile, and you can describe it however you want.
THINGS TO NOTE:
1) Your mare will age 1 year while she is in the breeding box.
2) There are items you can win that can allow you to deliver twins, increase skills, get choice of gender without actually having to chance it, etc... There will be a full list of these 'rare items' in the shopping center.
3) You must wait at least 1 year, before you can cover that same mare.
4) You are NOT allowed to share the password, or talk about the covering of your mare, outside of the Breeding Centers.
HOW SKILL STARS ARE DETERMINED:
1) Both of the parents highest skill are taken into account.
2) How you take care of your mare while she is in gestation is also taken into account.
By taking her on walks you increase the speed of your foal or filly. By posting at least 3 paragraphs you increase the stamina. Trotting with her and galloping with her will increase those two skills, but only in the first (3 days, not the last 2). Jumping will be increased by jumping with your horse, during the first 2 days, not the last three. And every time you groom your horse, dressage will be increased.
STUDS SERVICES:
There will always be one pure breed type of each horse with a skill set of 24 stars available to you in the stud center. You can use these as you wish, but their prices will be high, at least 1,000^.
BEFORE THE BREEDING:
1) Your horse had to be at least 4 years of age.
2) You must have have a stud that can be used to cover the mare. You can find studs one of three ways,
- Have one of your male horses cover your female. THIS IS A FREE SERVICE.
- Have someone offer to cover your mare for a predetermined price. THERE MUST BE PROOF OF THE OFFER IN THE FORUM. ONCE YOU PROVE THIS, THE HORSESHOES WILL BE REMOVED FROM YOUR ACCOUNT AND CREDITED TO THE PERSON WHO OFFERED THE COVER
- Browse through The Stud Center and pick one of the studs off of the list. ONCE YOU PICK ONE, THE AMOUNT OF THE COVERING WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM YOU HORSESHOES.
3) You need to fill out the covering form and post it in the forum section.
DURING THE BREEDING
1) When your form is accepted, I will create a thread, that will look something like: USERNAME'S, HORSE BREED HORSE NAME, COVERING DATE.
Gatekeeper's, Paint, Rossie, 7/17/2012
2) I will post the name of the mare, her type, and her skills. I will also post the studs name, his type, and his skills. I will post the covering date, as well. It will take 24 hours for the covering to take place.

Example:[/size]
Mare:
Stamina- **** (4)
Speed- ** (2)
Dressage- ****** (6)
Galloping- *** (3)
Trotting- *** (3)
Jumping- ***** (5)
TOTAL SKILL = 23
Stud:
Stamina- ***** (5)
Speed- ** (2)
Dressage- ** (2)
Galloping- *** (3)
Trotting- *** (3)
Jumping- ********** (10)
TOTAL SKILL = 25
23+25=48/2=24
The foal or filly in this case would have 24 skill stars.
5) If your foal and filly are within 5 skill stars of each other your foal or filly will gain a +2 in skill stars. If there is more than a 15 star skill difference, the foal or filly will lose -2 in skill stars.
